Site Engineer

Site Engineer / Section Engineer Location: Major Infrastructure Project, West Midlands The Opportunity A leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer and Section Engineer to support the delivery of a major UK infrastructure project. These are immediate requirements offering the opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme with the potential for a longer-term contract. Site Engineer Responsibilities * Manage day-to-day site engineering activities. * Carry out setting out and surveying duties. * Ensure site teams have the required information, resources and equipment. * Update machine control models as required. * Produce Task Briefing Sheets (TBS). * Coordinate and order site materials. * Maintain accurate daily site diaries and records. * Support the safe and efficient delivery of works. Section Engineer Responsibilities * Provide technical leadership and support to Site Engineers and apprentices. * Produce and manage three-week look-ahead programmes. * Review site requirements and coordinate material orders based on engineer quantifications. * Attend coordination and planning meetings with the wider project team. * Oversee daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. * Mentor junior engineers and help drive project performance. Requirements * SMSTS qualification (essential). * Strong background in civil engineering projects. * Extensive experience delivering roadworks, drainage and earthworks packages. * Excellent planning, coordination and communication skills. * Full UK driving licence and ability to travel independently to site. * Previous experience on major infrastructure projects is advantageous but not essential
