Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the HS2 delivery team in Southam, supporting the construction of major structures and ancillary works packages. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, quality assurance, technical compliance, and coordinating site activities to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out setting out and surveying activities for structures and ancillary works.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with HS2 standards, design requirements, and quality procedures.
Manage and maintain accurate site records, as-built information, and QA documentation.
Produce and review ITPs, check sheets, permits, and inspection records.
Coordinate subcontractors and site operatives to ensure safe and productive delivery of works.
Assist with planning and sequencing construction activities to meet programme milestones.
Support temporary works implementation and ensure compliance with approved designs.
Monitor quality standards and promptly identify and resolve technical issues on site.
Liaise with design teams, construction managers, and client representatives.
Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across all site activities.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Previous experience delivering structures such as bridges, viaducts, retaining walls, culverts, reinforced concrete works, or structural steelworks.
Experience with ancillary works, including drainage, earthworks interfaces, access roads, ducting, utilities diversions, fencing, and associated infrastructure.
Experience working on HS2 or other large-scale rail, highways, or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
Proficient in setting out using GPS, total stations, and surveying equipment.
Strong understanding of QA procedures, ITPs, and engineering documentation.
Knowledge of NEC contracts and construction management processes is advantageous.
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Valid CSCS card.
