Site Engineer – UPVC Fabrication Machinery & Site Maintenance Location: Aldridge, West Midlands Job Type: Full-time (40–45 hours per week) Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE About the Role We are working on behalf of an established UPVC window and door manufacturing business seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Site Engineer. This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for maintaining and repairing specialist UPVC fabrication machinery as well as supporting general site and facilities maintenance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment uptime and smooth day-to-day production operations. Key Responsibilities Machinery Maintenance * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on UPVC fabrication machinery * Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults * Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime * Install, commission, and relocate machinery when required * Maintain accurate maintenance records and service schedules * Liaise with external suppliers and contractors where necessary Site Maintenance * Carry out general building and facilities maintenance tasks * Maintain site services including lighting, heating, compressed air systems, and utilities * Undertake minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, and equipment * Support health & safety inspections and ensure compliance with procedures * Maintain workshop tools and maintenance equipment Continuous Improvement * Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability and efficiency * Support machinery upgrades and improvement projects * Assist in managing spare parts stock levels and recommendations Candidate Requirements Essential * Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing or production * Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills * Basic electrical fault-finding ability * Experience working with industrial machinery * Ability to read technical drawings and manuals * Strong organisational and record-keeping skills * Full UK driving licence * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Desirable * Experience with UPVC fabrication machinery (e.g., welding, routing, cutting, CNC, corner cleaning) * Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, 18th Edition or equivalent) * Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems * Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or equivalent)
