Job Description –  Site Manager (Ward Refurbishment Project)   Location: Bury St Edmunds  Day Rate: negotiable Project Duration: 12 weeks  Start Date: 7th September 2026 Requirement: SMSTS, First Aid 93 day), NHS experience Role Overview You will lead the on-site delivery of a full ward refurbishment, overseeing approximately 20 operatives across multiple trades. The works include M&E upgrades, air‑conditioning installation, ceiling replacement, window works, and general ward refurbishment activities. The Site Manager will ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards within a live healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring smooth coordination of all trades. Lead and supervise a workforce of around 20 operatives, including subcontractors. Maintain strict compliance with hospital protocols, infection control measures, and site access procedures. Oversee M&E, aircon, ceiling, window, and general refurbishment works, ensuring alignment with project specifications. Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure RAMS are followed. Monitor progress against programme, identify risks, and implement corrective actions. Liaise with hospital representatives, project managers, and contractors to maintain clear communication. Ensure all works meet quality standards and statutory requirements. Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, permits, and H&S documentation. Manage deliveries, logistics, and site housekeeping within a live hospital environment. Uphold high standards of health & safety, ensuring a safe working environment at all times. Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment or healthcare projects. Strong understanding of M&E, air‑conditioning, ceilings, windows, and general fit‑out works. Experience managing multi‑trade teams of 15–25 operatives. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively within live hospital environments. SMSTS, CSCS (Manager), First Aid essential. Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and permit-to-work systems
