Site Manager – CAT B Commercial Fit-Out Location: Central London Up to £260 per day + overtime where applicable Contract: Freelance – up to 3 months Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm Start: Immediate An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a commercial fit-out contractor on a CAT B project in Central London. Our client is looking for an experienced and dependable Site Manager who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project, coordinating subcontractors and trades while ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards. The contract is expected to run for up to three months and is available for an immediate start. The Role Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of the CAT B commercial fit-out works. You will manage subcontractors, trades and site personnel, driving the programme and ensuring works remain on schedule. You will monitor workmanship throughout the project, ensuring the required standards are achieved and any defects or quality issues are identified and resolved promptly. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of health and safety across the project, including carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings where required. You will review and enforce RAMS and safe systems of work and ensure all site activities comply with company procedures and statutory requirements. The Site Manager will coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics, while maintaining close communication with the Contracts Manager, client representatives, subcontractors and other project stakeholders. You will attend progress and coordination meetings where required, monitor subcontractor performance and resolve day-to-day issues to ensure the project continues to progress efficiently. The role will also involve carrying out regular site inspections, maintaining accurate site records and progress information and managing the project through snagging, defect resolution, completion and final handover. Candidate Requirements Applicants must have a minimum of five years' experience working within commercial fit-out and be able to demonstrate a strong track record of successfully managing CAT B projects. Candidates must hold a current SMSTS qualification and First Aid at Work certificate. You should have strong subcontractor and trade management skills, a thorough understanding of construction health and safety requirements and the ability to maintain accurate site documentation. The successful candidate will be organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with clients, subcontractors and other members of the project team. Due to the nature of the project, there may occasionally be a requirement to undertake evening and/or weekend works. Applicants should therefore live within approximately one hour's commute of Central London and be able to offer reasonable flexibility when required. The Package A day rate of up to £260 per day is available, depending upon experience, with additional overtime payments where appropriate for agreed evening or weekend working. Normal working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. This is an immediate requirement and preference will be given to suitably qualified Site Managers with strong CAT B commercial fit-out experience who are available to start at short notice.
