Site Manager – Groundworks Location: Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire Start: ASAP Duration: 2–3 Years We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a long-term groundworks scheme in Bishops Stortford. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong groundworks and civils background looking for secure, long-term work, with approximately 2–3 years of work available on the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the works on site, ensuring operations are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the agreed programme and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: * Managing the day-to-day site operations * Supervising site teams and subcontractors * Coordinating groundworks and civils activities * Ensuring works are delivered to programme and specification * Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality * Liaising with Project Managers, engineers and subcontractors * Monitoring progress and reporting back to the project team * Managing site paperwork, RAMS and daily records * Ensuring the site is well organised and running efficiently Requirements: * Proven experience as a Site Manager * Strong groundworks/civils background * Previous experience working for a groundworks or civil engineering contractor is highly desirable * Strong understanding of site health & safety and construction processes * Ability to manage site teams and subcontractors effectively * SMSTS * CSCS * First Aid * Strong communication and organisational skills The Opportunity: * 2–3 years of work available * ASAP start * Based in Bishops Stortford * Long-term opportunity with a reputable contractor * Competitive day rate/salary available depending on experience * Opportunity for further work following successful completion of the project If you are an experienced Site Manager with a strong groundworks/civils background and are available to start ASAP, please get in touch to discuss the role in more detail
