Sliding Head Setter Programmer - Night Shift Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Industry: Precision Engineering Shift: Nights 6am-6pm 3 days a week Our client is a well-established precision engineering business based in Staffordshire, supplying high quality machined components to a range of industries. They operate a busy, modern workshop environment and are looking to add an experienced Sliding Head Operator to work nights. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and ideally setting sliding head CNC machines , producing small to medium precision components from engineering drawings. You will be expected to maintain high quality standards, carry out inspection checks, and ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. Operate sliding head CNC machines. Set machines where required, including tooling changes and offsets. Produce precision-machined components to tight tolerances. Carry out first-off and in-process inspection checks. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments where needed. Check finished parts for quality and accuracy. Keep work areas clean, safe and organised. Work closely with the wider production and inspection teams. Previous experience as a Sliding Head Operator or Sliding Head Setter Operator. Experience with sliding head machines such as Star, Citizen, Tornos, Hanwha or similar . Experience setting sliding head machines. Experience editing programs at the machine.
