We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Care Support Worker to join our team at HMP Stafford, a category C men's prison located in Stafford.

Hours We are looking for part time 3 x 11.5hrs shifts per week (7.30am till 8pm) -  34.5hrs contract 

Salary This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary of £22,802 to £24,380 per annum.   -

Main duties of the job

As a Social Care Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • You will contribute to and support the delivery of social care within a secure environment. Implement clinical social care packages.
  • Assist patients, with activities of daily living, respecting individual needs, dignity and privacy in all necessary activities.
  • Deliver healthcare work under the supervision of a qualified nurse, organise own workload and assist patients in all activities of daily living. Apply appropriate knowledge and understanding of patients individual needs, in accordance with care plans.

Qualifications required  

  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
