Software Design Engineers

Full-Time | Permanent We are recruiting for a Detailer (Draftsperson) to join a growing engineering business specialising in the design, fabrication and installation of structural steelwork for a diverse range of infrastructure and industrial projects. Working as part of an experienced design team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabrication and installation drawings for structural steel projects, ensuring designs are practical, buildable and efficient to manufacture. You'll also manage bill of materials and collaborate closely with engineering, production, procurement, sales and project management teams to deliver projects on time. This is an excellent opportunity for either a graduate with relevant structural steel design experience or an experienced Detailer looking to further develop their career within a well-established engineering environment. Produce detailed fabrication, manufacturing and installation drawings for structural steel projects. Create accurate 3D models using Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software. Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and suitable for fabrication and installation. Work closely with engineers to develop technical solutions and resolve design queries. Liaise with production, procurement, sales and project management teams throughout project delivery. Update drawings and engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting programme deadlines. Experience using a 3D CAD package such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar. Ability to manage workload across multiple projects. Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or Apprenticeship). Previous experience within structural steel, telecoms, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.Projects You'll Be Working On Rail station platforms Rail and highway maintenance platforms Monday to Friday Hybrid working available following training: 3 days office-based Competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 for graduate-level candidates.
