We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join Stone King’s highly regarded Employment team, with a particular focus on supporting our nationally renowned Education practice. We're looking for someone who enjoys building client relationships, thrives on solving complex workplace challenges, and is keen to develop specialist expertise while working alongside recognised sector experts.


You’ll play an important role in advising clients on a broad range of employment matters, from day-to-day HR issues and contractual arrangements through to Employment Tribunal claims and complex organisational changes. Working closely with colleagues across the firm, you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise, build strong client relationships and establish yourself as a trusted adviser within the education sector and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Advising clients on a wide range of employment law matters and providing pragmatic, commercially focused solutions.

• Managing your own Employment Tribunal caseload, with supervision where appropriate.

• Reviewing, drafting and advising on contracts of employment and other employment-related documentation.

• Advising clients on disciplinary, grievance and workplace investigation matters.

• Supporting clients on TUPE, restructures and organisational change projects.

• Advising on discrimination and equality issues, including disability, age, religion or belief, and sex discrimination.

• Assisting clients with termination negotiations, settlement agreements and workplace disputes.

• Preparing and managing cases for Employment Tribunal hearings, including advocacy where appropriate.

• Working closely with the firm's HR Consultancy team to provide coordinated support to clients.

• Building strong client relationships through regular contact, meetings and ongoing support.

• Contributing to business development initiatives, networking activities and sector-focused marketing efforts.

• Collaborating with colleagues across the Employment team and wider firm to deliver exceptional client service.


What We’re Looking For

A newly qualified Solicitor with experience in Employment Law

A genuine passion for employment law and a commitment to continued learning and professional development

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively

High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues and clients

Strong IT literacy and ability to work effectively in a modern hybrid environment

A client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service


Desirable Experience

Experience gained in a similar employment law role

Exposure to Employment Tribunal proceedings and advocacy

Experience advising education sector clients, schools or colleges

Knowledge of charity or social enterprise organisations and the employment issues they face
