As a Sonographer in our Ultrasound department, youll experience a varied caseload ofconditions and support patients of all ages, allowing you to increase your skills. Youll beable to practice and develop your teaching skills through our student Sonographer andRegistrar training programme.Youll split you time working between: General/inpatient ultrasound. antenatal and early pregnancy service community sites sub speciality scanning where relevant. relevant governance/audit activity.A sonographer with a range of skills is preferred however, candidates with certain ultrasoundsub specialities will be considered.Its an exciting time to join the team as a Sonographer, with new development projectsplanned, and a focus on developing non-traditional roles within the team. Youll beencouraged to grow with training, development, mentoring and a nurturing team. Youll have the chance to attend the British Medical Ultrasound Conference, collaborate with colleagues across the Peninsula Diagnostic Network.We are a small, friendly team of 13 Sonographers, including: 1 Trainee Advanced Practitioner 2 Vascular Sonographers 1 Midwife Sonographer 1 Superintendent SonographerWith a diverse range of professional backgrounds, we learn from each other and continuallygrow our collective skills and expertise in a supportive, collaborative environment.Were looking for a qualified Sonographer who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and thrives in a multidisciplinary team setting. NHS experience is desirable but not essential.Youll need to be: HCPC or NMC registered, or Hold a postgraduate diploma covering abdominal, gynaecological and/or obstetricultrasound Confident in independently performing and reporting ultrasound scans Hold a UK driving licence and have access to transport for travel to communitylocationsTraining and development opportunities are in high supply here, whether you areinterested in clinical or leadership development courses we'll support you in finding the best way to grow. We actively encourage CPD and you will have an opportunity to spend time with our range of specialists as part of your CPD.Youll be involved in clinical audit, clinical governance sessions, dedicated journal clubs, departmental meetings and courses/ seminars relevant to the role.Innovation is central at the Royal Devon, we were the first trust in the UK to use ourelectronic record in the community, and weve developed non-traditional roles within Allied Health Professions including a Research and Innovation Lead.A great place to live and work.
