Sous Chef - School Catering 📍 Eastbourne 📅 Start Date: Wednesday 2nd September 2026 ⏰ Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30 💷 Competitive hourly rate 📄 Ongoing Temporary Assignment We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to join a busy school catering team in Eastbourne on an ongoing temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef looking for a great work-life balance, with daytime hours and no evening or weekend work. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the Head Chef in the preparation and service of nutritious, high-quality meals Assisting with menu preparation and daily food production Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained at all times Supervising kitchen staff when required Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment Requirements: Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a high-volume catering environment Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate is essential Reliability and excellent teamwork skills What's on Offer? ✅ Monday to Friday schedule ✅ Daytime hours only (07:00-15:30) ✅ Ongoing temporary role ✅ Friendly school environment ✅ Immediate start available from 02/09/2026 If you are an experienced Sous Chef with a valid DBS and are available for an ongoing temporary position, we'd love to hear from you.
