Responsibilities:
As a specialist mentor you will be required to do the following when working one to one with students:
- Help them to achieve an appropriate balance activities of everyday living and academic related tasks
- Improve organisational skills such as time management
- Assist students in preparing for their deadlines by breaking down tasks into smaller parts for them
- Help to manage anxiety and cope with anxiety and stress caused by study related issues and/or everyday living.
- Help students with reflecting on their own experiences
- Improve students confidence by building on their existing strengthsAssist in preparing students for new experiences which they may be nervous going into
- Work closely with Randstad ensure any concerns with students are communicated as soon as possible
- Behave in a professional and confidential manner at all times
Requirements:
This is a specialist role so you must have membership of at least one of the following organisations at the level(s) indicated within this link (see page 8 & 9 - specialist mentor MH):

Desirable
- Be an empathetic person who can understand the needs of others
- Have experience working with individuals with disabilities / learning difficulties
- Be a reliable and responsible mentor to both students and Randstad
- Have great organisational and time management skills
