Apply for the Specialist Pharmacist role at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Worthing (England, Great Britain). This full‑time, on‑site position offers great opportunities for career growth and is part of our Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Trust. You will be a core member of the inpatient team at Meadowfield, where you will provide clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation service, support medicines education and training, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The role is based at Meadowfield in Worthing and will be supported to undertake further accreditations. There are opportunities to develop your role and service to the inpatient wards and urgent care, and to participate in the new in‑house medicines supply service planned for 2026. You will join a friendly, supportive pharmacy team that is highly regarded across the Trust and is rapidly expanding due to significant recent investments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation service to ensure patients get the best from their medicines.
  • Ensure a strong commitment to medicines education and training so that patients, pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals are well informed and able to manage their use of medicines correctly, safely and cost effectively.
  • Appraise clinical evidence and generate high‑quality pharmacotherapeutic advice to support colleagues.
  • Communicate clinically with patients and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Support the on‑call advisory service, which is for advice only, with senior support provided.
  • Assist with the implementation and delivery of the new in‑house medicines supply service planned for 2026.

Qualifications

  • Interest in working within a specialist mental health service.
  • Understanding of the medicines used in mental health and learning‑disabilities care.
  • Awareness of the people we support and care for.
  • Excellent clinical communication skills and interest in patient‑facing teamwork.
  • Ability to undertake further accreditations as appropriate.
