Job summary

Working with a supportive podiatry team, you'll provide specialist care that helps people maintain mobility, manage complex foot health needs and improve their overall wellbeing. Based within a community-focused service, you'll work with patients, families and colleagues to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care while helping to shape and develop specialist areas of practice. You will manage your own specialist caseload and have the opportunity to use advanced clinical skills, contribute to service improvement and support the development of others through supervision, mentoring and shared learning. Colleague survey results for podiatry ie 88% of the team would recommend it as a place to work. 94 % believe the team to be an inclusive employer. Main duties of the job

What you'll do:
  • Assess, diagnose and deliver personalised treatment plans for patients with complex podiatry needs
  • Manage and prioritise a specialist caseload, working independently and within the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Provide specialist advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals
  • Act as a clinical lead in a specialist area such as wound care, nail surgery or health promotion
  • Support colleagues through supervision, mentoring, training and service development activities
What we're looking for:
  • A degree in Podiatry and current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant specialist area, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Experience managing podiatry caseloads and delivering specialist patient care
  • Strong communication, organisation and partnership-working skills
  • A commitment to continuous learning, equality, inclusion and high-quality patient care

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Podiatry
  • Postgraduate qualification in relevant specialist area or able to demonstrate equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Current HCPC professional registration

Knowledge

Essential

  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to clinical and service area
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
  • Specialist understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area.
  • Evidence of undertaking audits/surveys
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable

  • Develop to advanced/expert understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area

Experience

Essential

  • Significant demonstrable experience of working as a Podiatrist
  • Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
  • Experience of multi-agency/professional working
  • Experience of case load management within specialist service area
  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active patient/relative involvement/participation

Desirable

  • Experience of complex case load management within specialist service area
  • Presentation skills/training experience
