Job Title: Specialist Practitioner Autism/CCN teamSalary: £24,190 - £25,426 per annum plus SEN payment of £1,16132.5 Hours per Week (Term Time Only)Location: Fieldworker, working across Worcestershire with an office base in a Children's Services location in WorcestershireTeam: Specialist Teaching Service (placed within Autism/CCN)Permanent ContractThe Role: The Specialist Teaching Service is looking to recruit 2 new full-time Specialist Practitioners (Teaching Assistants). This is a rare opportunity to join a popular and well-regarded service and to develop your skills and experience.We are seeking to recruit an outstanding practitioner (teaching assistant) who is experienced in supporting pupils with special needs. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with autistic children and other neurodivergences. They must have a neuro-affirming ethos and a curiosity for the reasons underlying a child's presenting need.Successful candidates will be positively guided and supported as they become familiar with aspects of the role. Successful candidates will be involved in developing and delivering a range of evidence-based programmes and interventions to support autistic children, their families and their settings across Worcestershire including: undertaking direct 1:1 and small group work, delivering specific interventions and training school staff to become Worcestershire Autism Mentors. In addition, they will support the Autism/CCN Team with the delivery of relevant training (face to face and online).The role is diverse, and each day is different. You will have a varied workload across a variety of settings and will be a self-motivated and organised individual.This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an experienced, dedicated and friendly team working in a progressively forward-thinking service working across the whole of Worcestershire.This role involves a mixture of remote (online) work and in-person work in settings and ocasionally family homes and other locations.
