Specialty Doctor in Private Care Medical Day Unit
Job summary
The Specialty Doctor alongside other colleagues, Specialist Pharmacists and ANPs is responsible for the day-to-day running of the private patient SACT clinics on the PPMDUs across 3 sites.
Prescribing SACT with the lead consultant's oversight, medically assessing patients for their fitness for treatment, arranging appropriate routine investigations.
Information will be provided to patients regarding their disease management, treatment and side effect for patients and families, answering any questions they might have regarding their disease, treatment or side effects.
Main duties of the job
The Specialty Doctor will make clinical decisions within the boundaries of accepted professional standards and as delegated to the post holder by the supervising Consultant.
The Specialty Doctor will ensure the Consultants are kept informed of their patients progress at all times.
The work is flexible to cope with the demand and meet cancer targets. It is expected that the post holder will work flexibly to help the team in providing the services across the units.
