Working alongside our Consultants in Palliative Medicine, multidisciplinary colleagues and system partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care that enables patients and families to live as well as possible for as long as possible. The role includes inpatient care, symptom management, advance care planning, multidisciplinary working and participation in the hospice 1st on-call rota.About us

SPECIALTY DOCTOR
Pay: 2021 SAS Contract pay scale (based on years of experience)
Contact: Part Time - working 24 hours a week (working pattern to be discussed - occasional weekend working and first medical on call will be required). Candidates looking for just 8 or 16 hours a week would be considered.
Term: This is a Fixed Term contract working until the end of September 2027
Location: Based at our hospice in Winsley, Wiltshire (with same travel across our community as needed)

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Specialty Doctor to join our Medical Team, on a fixed term, part-time basis providing expert palliative care across inpatient, outpatient and community services.

ABOUT YOU
The role would be well suited to compassionate doctor who values holistic, person-centred care and wants to make a meaningful difference to patients and families, and wishes to gain more experience in palliative medicine - there will be the opportunity to learn more about palliative medicine during this role. The role would be well suited to a doctor who already has experience working in palliative medicine, general practice, general medicine or oncology.

Qualifications
Essential
- * Primary Medical Qualification recognised by the GMC, with full GMC Registration and Licence to Practise
Experience
Essential
- * Significant medical experience including specialist palliative medicine experience, which may include oncology, geriatric medicine or general medicine
- * Experience of multidisciplinary working and contributing to complex MDT discussions
- * Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with experience of symptom control and palliative care principles
- * Excellent communication skills with a compassionate, person-centred approach and the ability to manage emotionally demanding situations
- * Commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety and delivering best practice care
Desirable
- * Formal teaching, training or education experience
