As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering automation and control system projects that support critical water and wastewater infrastructure across Scotland. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to testing, commissioning, and ongoing support. Design, develop, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for water and wastewater treatment assets. Produce technical documentation, including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), System Hardware Designs including I/O documentation, test documentation, and operation manuals. Configure and programme control systems using industry-leading automation platforms, including Siemens and Rockwell technologies. Support Quality Assurance (QA) processes by ensuring all work complies with company procedures, client standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices. Participate in design reviews, audits, and lessons-learned workshops, contributing to continuous improvement across engineering and project delivery teams. Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and optimisation of existing control systems to improve operational performance, reliability, and asset life. Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing trusted technical expertise and contributing to M Group Water's reputation for excellence. The ability to interpret and apply client specifications, technical standards, and user requirements to develop practical and compliant engineering solutions. Knowledge of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, including software development, testing, and commissioning activities. An understanding of Quality Assurance (QA) processes, documentation standards, and the importance of delivering work right first time. Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities that add value for clients and the business. A commitment to health, safety, quality, and cyber security best practices. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across Scotland as required. Understanding of industrial communications networks and protocols, such as Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus. Familiarity with cyber security principles relating to Operational Technology (OT) environments would be advantageous.
