Steel Fixer

VGC Group are currently recruiting for a Steel Fixer to join a project based in Hickling, Norfolk. This is a great opportunity for a reliable and hard-working individual looking for work, and to gain experience with a Tier 1 client. The successful candidate will be able to work well as part of a team, and support site operations to keep the project running safely and efficiently. Pay Rate: £21.25 per hour PAYE. Monday - Friday 07:00 - 17:00 Please note Lodge and Travel payment is not available for this role. NPORS is NOT accepted on this site, to be suitable for this role you must have a CPCS/CSCS card. Your responsibilities may include: - Read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type, quantity, and placement. - Cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using cutting and bending tools or machinery. - Position and secure rebar in concrete forms using wire, clips, or welds. - Place spacers and chairs to ensure the rebar is positioned correctly and maintains the required spacing. - Identify and correct any issues or discrepancies in the reinforcement layout. - Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). - Supporting site teams with day to day operations - Ensuring work areas are maintained safely and efficiently To be considered for this role, you must have: - A valid CSCS Card - Previous experience in this role - A good work ethic and positive attitude - The ability to work well independently and as part of a team - Good punctuality and reliability - Right to work in the UK For the right candidate, this is a great opportunity to work on a major project on a long term basis.
