Strategic Supply Chain Lead - 6 month contract - Warton Aerodrome, Lancashire - £41.06 ph UMB or £30.54 ph PAYE (Inside IR35) The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles. The Role As a Strategic Supply Chain Lead within the Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) Supply Chain Line of Business, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of supply chain engagement requirements/ spend and will be actively managing and driving strategic sourcing activities for your area of responsibility. You will need to work cross functionally within an Integrated Project Team to understand requirements and develop appropriate supply chain solutions. You will be providing support to Life Cycle Management and associated Governance activities; all whilst managing your various internal customers and supporting virtual and direct teams of professionals. The role is to lead market engagement and supplier activity for the HPC capability, developing a clear understanding of supplier solutions, technology maturity, pricing and commercial models. Lead commercial engagements to secure the best solution with VFM a key consideration, appropriate contractual frameworks and a deliverable solution aligned to the technical requirement. The role will cover the lifecycle from initial engagement to procurement and delivery; while ensuring contractual commitments dependencies, risks and supplier responsibilities are clearly established and effectively handed over to the delivery team. Role Responsibilities: Not limited to… Support all sourcing and strategic activity for the defined supply chain requirements including negotiating pricing and contracting terms and conditions as applicable Have experience of compute / hardware procurement in relation to HPCs (High Performance Compute), AI/GPU, CPU, storage, networking and data centre infrastructure requirements Consider TCO, obsolescence, security practices, availability and supply chain / vendor risks Lead and influence supply strategies, via continuous improvement, to ensure an affordable, innovative and sustainable solution is being delivered Work as a part of a cross functional team to interface across the Air business and with other teams and functions, e.g. PM, Project Control, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, Legal Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the supply chain provision meets the governance requirements of the business and our customers and delivers optimum value for money. Lead and support Programme Reviews with topical reporting data Manage Supplier risk and drive supply chain resilience The role reports on a day-to-day basis to one of the Supply Chain Executives. What are BAE Systems looking for from you? Essential: A Continuous Improvement mind-set with proven examples of identifying new ideas that drive improvement, problem solving and working collaboratively with others to identify a solution ideally within a Procurement (or similar) environment Experience of hardware procurement for data centre / HPC fit out Detailed understanding and experience of supplier risk and opportunity management Working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems, Microsoft Office programs particularly in Excel. Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations Negotiation skills - experience of price and contractual terms and conditions negotiations Excellent collaboration and communication skills, fostering close & trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders Security Requirements: SC This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
