Location: Hackney, London Job Type: Full-time | Term Time Only Salary: Competitive (in line with experience and local pay scales) Start Date: September 2026 Make a positive impact on young people's lives We are seeking a compassionate, organised and proactive Student Support Centre Officer to join our dedicated team in Hackney. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students' wellbeing, behaviour and engagement, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The Student Support Centre plays a vital role in providing a safe, supportive space where students receive guidance, pastoral support and targeted interventions to help them succeed both academically and personally. About the role At the Student Support Centre, you will: * Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students throughout the school day. * Build positive relationships with students, families and staff to promote student wellbeing. * Support students who require time in the Student Support Centre, helping them reflect and successfully reintegrate into lessons. * Monitor attendance, punctuality and student engagement where required. * Deliver or support targeted interventions for students with additional pastoral needs. * Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with teaching staff and senior leaders. * Help create a calm, inclusive and supportive environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning. About you We are looking for someone who: * Is passionate about supporting young people to succeed. * Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills. * Remains calm, resilient and solution-focused in challenging situations. * Is organised and able to manage competing priorities. * Has experience working with young people in a school, youth work or pastoral setting (desirable). * Understands the importance of safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.
