Subsea Test & Assembly Technician

KBM are working with a well‑established engineering Co who deliver specialist services to the offshore energy, subsea and renewables sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced Subsea Test & Assembly Technician to join their expanding team in Brechin.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a modern engineering facility where you’ll work on a wide variety of high‑profile subsea equipment, supporting projects from assembly and refurbishment through to testing, commissioning and client acceptance.

The Role

Working within the Test & Assembly department, you will be responsible for assembling, testing and maintaining complex subsea and offshore equipment to the highest quality and safety standards.

  • Mechanical assembly and disassembly of subsea equipment and associated systems
  • Function testing, pressure testing and hydraulic testing of offshore tooling and equipment
  • Inspection, fault finding and repair of mechanical and hydraulic components
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, procedures and technical documentation
  • Recording test data and completing inspection documentation accurately
  • Supporting FAT, SIT and client witness testing where required
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
  • Working collaboratively with engineering, workshop and project teams to deliver projects on time

About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Experience in a Test & Assembly, Mechanical Technician or Subsea Technician role
  • Previous experience within the subsea, offshore oil & gas, marine or renewables sectors
  • Good mechanical and hydraulic assembly skills
  • Experience carrying out function testing and pressure testing is highly desirable
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Offshore tooling
  • Subsea equipment
  • Mechanical fitting
  • LOLER or lifting equipment awareness
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification (advantageous but not essential)
