We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Workers to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison located in Lewes. 

HMP Lewes is a Busy local remand male prison with a capacity for 620 inmates. We are recruiting for Substance Misuse Recovery Workers to support the Substance Misuse Healthcare Team. For this role you will preferably have experience with Substance Misuse patients within the criminal justice setting or working with vulnerable patients.  There is free parking on site, a staff a gym. Close to the town centre and train station.

Hours

We offer healthcare 7 days per week, and you will work 5 days out of 7, including weekends on rotation. Shifts are 8am - 4pm, Monday - Sunday. 

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £33,510  per annum.

Main duties of the job

As a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • You will provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care on a one to one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.
  • Youll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
