OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff; organising and monitoring work process on a day to day basis of their specific area. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Ensuring the completion of any tasks that are assigned to the team by the department Manager, Ensuring team members complete the tasks that have been assigned to them, Supporting the production team by assisting in ensuring machines continue to produce parts Resolution of technical and process related issues in association with department Manager Identification and implementation of cost reduction strategies, new production processes/technologies and methods for continuous improvement, Monitoring time that work is issued and completed, Monitoring and planning of resources to ensure that they are appropriate to the workload, Ensuring that all team members complete timesheets in an accurate and timely fashion, Monitoring the attendance, quality and timekeeping of all team members, and address accordingly, Approving and managing staff holidays to minimise the disruption to the team, Delegating tasks to team members and for ensuring that all work produced is carried out in a timely and cost effective manner, Play an active role in the recruitment and selection process for the team, Attend first level disciplinaries and grievances, Complete all performance reviews for the team, Assessing the skills and performance levels of all team members and identifying/carrying out additional training as necessary, Ensuring that team members operate in accordance with quality procedures, Mentor apprentices on shop floor on manual machining techniques and safe working processes To be responsible for the safe working of all team members and ensuring the adherence to all Company H&S policies, To ensure all Company rules and regulations are met and initiate appropriate corrective action and/or the Company disciplinary procedures when required, Responsible for making sure an excellent standard of housekeeping is maintained, Complete corrective actions on time, To carry out any other task where reasonable and relevant, when required. In addition to the above you may be required to perform other duties as reasonably requested by Management. This is not an exhaustive list.
