Vickerstock are working in partnership with a rapidly growing manufacturing business on the appointment of a Supply Chain/Procurement Manager. This is a strategic leadership role, giving the successful applicant the chance to lead and develop the procurement and supply chain function.

Role Overview

Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships and ensuring the efficient flow of materials across manufacturing operations. You'll also play a key role in driving cost reduction initiatives, improving operational performance and leading a high-performing procurement team.



The Role

  • Reporting into senior management, you will take ownership of the procurement and supply chain function, ensuring materials are sourced competitively while maintaining quality, service and delivery performance.
  • Key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and implementing procurement and supply chain strategies that support the company's operational and commercial objectives.
  • Leading supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable commercial terms and long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Managing the complete procurement life-cycle, from sourcing and purchasing through to contract management and supplier performance.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, driving continuous improvement across quality, cost and delivery.
  • Overseeing transportation, warehousing and inventory planning to ensure continuity of supply across the business.
  • Working with ERP systems to improve procurement processes, reporting and operational visibility.
  • Monitoring market trends, supplier performance and commercial risks to identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply chain optimisation.
  • Collaborating with Production, Engineering, Finance and Logistics teams to forecast demand and ensure material availability.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and relevant procurement legislation.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing the procurement team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.



Essential Experience

  • 3 years’ recent experience in a senior Supply Chain, Procurement or Purchasing leadership role (suitable for Senior Buyers/Category Managers)
  • Industry experience will ideally be in manufacturing and/or engineering
  • Proven success in developing procurement strategies and delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Strong background in supplier relationship management and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience leading procurement teams and driving high performance. xwzovoh
  • Experience in system successful implementation (ERP / MRP / WMS)
