Hays are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer to recruit a Supply Chain Planning Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that designs and delivers bespoke solutions to customers across a range of industrial sectors, with a strong focus on innovation, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Your new role

As Supply Chain Planning Manager, you will play a key role in driving supply chain performance and operational efficiency. Working closely with teams across Procurement, Production, Engineering, Sales and Logistics, you will lead planning activities, improve processes and support business growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing effective S&OP and supply planning processes.
  • Managing demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and materials availability.
  • Building strong supplier relationships and monitoring supplier performance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and planning tools.
  • Supporting ERP/MRP system enhancements and wider business improvement projects.
  • Producing reporting and analysis on supply chain performance, risk and inventory metrics.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Recent experience within a Supply Chain Planning, Supply Chain Management or Operations Planning role.
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong planning, forecasting and inventory management experience.
  • Experience implementing or improving ERP/MRP systems and processes.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering operational improvements and driving efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma would be advantageous.
