Suspension Engineering - Engineer Rate: £28.42 per hour (Umbrella) Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract / Contract Opportunity (Maternity Cover) About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Suspension Engineering - Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team supporting the development and delivery of suspension systems. This opportunity has arisen to provide cover during a period of maternity/paternity leave and offers the chance to work on cutting-edge vehicle suspension technologies within an Agile product development environment. Working as part of an Agile Squad, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development, validation and delivery of suspension components and systems, ensuring all programme targets for quality, cost and timing are achieved. Key Responsibilities Deliver commodity plans to quality, cost and timing targets, including maintenance of the Worldwide Engineering Release System. Complete Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables. Support the management of Change Requests, expenditure forecasting and supplier activities to ensure programme milestones are achieved. Develop and manage spring and damper module test plans, coordinating test and development activities through to sign-off. Work closely with engineering test teams to investigate and rectify issues. Support supplier component engineering and vehicle attribute teams in resolving technical issues and developing robust design solutions. Ensure all relevant Jaguar Land Rover engineering standards and processes are adhered to throughout design maturation. Drive achievement of programme cost and weight targets. Support legal compliance activities, requirements management and design verification documentation. Maintain accurate and up-to-date module documentation, including meeting records and project reports. Undertake additional activities as required by the line manager to support programme delivery. Essential Skills & Experience Previous experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills Desirable Skills & Experience Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T notation CAD / CAE design and analysis experience preferably with Dassault toolsets Some experience of delivering suspension damper, coil spring and air spring technologies Experience of working within agile scrum methodologyEducation Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
