If you share our values and you are motivated to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities, we would love to hear from you.

About the Team

The Public Realm Team is responsible for the management and maintenance of the councils countryside sites, parks, open spaces and play areas. The team also oversees the councils tree stock, grounds maintenance programmes, street cleansing operations, including litter collection and mechanical sweeping, and the removal of fly-tipping across the districts.

About the role

In this exciting, innovative role, you will lead the development and management of our Public Realm systems, asset data and spatial information.

You will be pivotal in ensuring that the information we hold about our assets is accurate, reliable and effectively used to support decision-making, service planning and day-to-day operations.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will provide advice, drive improvements to digital systems and processes, and use data and insight to help deliver efficient, effective and customer-focused Public Realm services.

You will play a key role in shaping how technology and asset intelligence support the delivery of services for our communities both now and in the future.

This is a hybrid role, where you will be expected to work from both the Mid Suffolk depot in Stowmarket and the Babergh depot in Sudbury, as well as from home.

About you

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking data professional, with passion and drive to provide accurate data that supports decision making and continuous service improvement.

To be successful, you will:

  • Have experience managing and developing asset management systems, GIS and digital information platforms.
  • Have strong analytical skills and can use data and site-based information to support decision-making and service improvement.
  • Be confident carrying out site inspections, surveys and investigations, identifying issues and coordinating appropriate actions.
  • Have experience maintaining accurate records, mapping, asset data and land ownership information.
  • Be able to lead projects, system improvements and process changes to improve efficiency and service performance.
  • Be able to provide clear, professional advice to a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues and residents.
  • Have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively and be confident building positive working relationships across teams and organisations.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
