A well known and established boutique, based in central London not far from Farringdon station, is looking for a confident Senior Solicitor (5-8 PQE) to join their tax disputes team. The firm has a strong specialism focusing on providing personal and commercial services to SMEs, Directors, shareholders, HNW Individuals, and financial institutions including banks. While the overall firm is mid-sized and close-nit, the tax disputes team is significant, with over 10 legal professionals including 4 Partners.

The firm is open to candidates from a Legal 500, national, or international background, prioritising experience in tax disputes and personality fit. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Tax Tribunal procedures, communicating with HMRC including for commercial settlements, and assisting with the management of junior legal professionals. Key Responsibilities:

• Managing tax matters including those of an advisory and litigated nature in Tax Tribunal,
• Provide support to clients regarding the mitigation of potential criminal proceedings relating to tax investigations and fraud.
• Support proceedings on freezing orders including those of a worldwide basis,
• Assist team Partners on complex matters and support junior legal professionals on their continued growth.
• Deliver outstanding services to clients including banks, Insolvency Practitioners, financial institutions and HNWIs, with relationship building and a sound understanding of client legal and commercial requirements.
• Assist with team marketing activities including writing articles.
• Conduct personal development and advocacy when required.

Skills and Experience:

• UK qualified Solicitor with 5 - 8 years PQE from a reputable London firm (other levels will be considered on a case by case basis).
• A demonstrated track record of tax disputes with and an enthusiasm for the sector and experience with HMRC and tax tribunals.
• Technically strong understanding of legal processes and strong commercial judgment.
• A passionate personality with an enthusiasm for personal development and strong interpersonal skills.
