Technical Advisor

FLSmidth is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Technical Advisor - Mill & Crusher Liners to join our Site Services team based in Welshpool, WA. This role has been created to support continued growth and increasing customer demand across our consumables and technical services business.As a Technical Advisor, you will be the subject matter expert for mill and crusher liner systems, providing technical support throughout the wear life cycle, from installation and commissioning through to inspections, performance analysis, optimisation, and replacement planning. You will work closely with customers, service teams, engineering groups, and product specialists to maximise equipment performance, liner life, safety, and maintenance efficiency across mining operations.Extensive travel, including interstate and international travel at times, will be required.What you will be doingProvide technical advisory services for mill and crusher liner systems across customer sitesConduct liner inspections, wear measurements, condition assessments, and performance evaluationsSupport customers with liner optimisation strategies to improve wear life, throughput, and maintenance efficiencyLead and support liner installation, reline activities, commissioning, and shutdown executionAnalyse wear patterns and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and recommend corrective actionsPrepare technical reports and provide recommendations to customers and internal stakeholdersCollaborate with engineering and product teams to support continuous improvement initiativesPromote a strong safety culture across all site activitiesBuild strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for consumable improvements, upgrades, and lifecycle solutionsProvide technical training and mentoring to customers, service teams, and junior personnelWhat you bringMechanical trade qualification, engineering qualification, or equivalent industry experienceExtensive experience with mill liners, crusher liners, or other mining wear consumablesStrong understanding of comminution circuits, including grinding mills and crushing equipmentExperience conducting liner inspections, wear analysis, and performance assessmentsKnowledge of reline procedures, shutdown maintenance, and mine site safety requirementsAbility to interpret technical drawings, liner designs, wear reports, and engineering documentationStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on continuous improvementExcellent communication and customer relationship management skillsAbility to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with customers and internal teamsExperience providing technical recommendations that improve equipment performance and operational efficiencyWillingness to travel extensively across customer sitesHard rock mining experience highly regardedWhy join FLSmidth?Competitive remuneration packageOpportunity to become a recognised technical specialist within a global OEMExposure to leading mill and crusher liner technologies across the mining industryLong-term career stability with an established global organisation operating since 1882Ongoing training and professional development opportunitiesSalary packaging options to maximise after-tax incomePaid parental leave and purchased annual leave optionsEmployee Assistance Program for employees and immediate familyAs an equal opportunity employer, FLSmidth embraces diversity and equality by promoting an environment of inclusion.
