SRG are working with a market-leading materials manufacturer specialising in the development and production of advanced coated products for a range of industrial applications. They are now seeking a Technical Service Chemist to join their technical team in Cheshire East on a permanent basis. This role is designed for someone with strong laboratory and technical support experience and will involve coordinating technical service activities, laboratory testing and customer-focused technical support projects. This role will suit candidates with recent and proven industrial experience within technical service, quality control, laboratory testing or R&D and who are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience within coatings, adhesives, paper or film manufacturing is desirable but not essential.

Role/Description
- Prioritise and coordinate technical service requests to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
- Support customer requirements and short-term product development activities.
- Conduct laboratory testing safely, accurately and in line with agreed procedures and standards.
- Ensure testing data is recorded, analysed and communicated effectively.
- Coordinate and support production and customer trials when required.
- Work closely with technical teams and wider stakeholders to align priorities and resources.
- Support investigations into quality issues, customer enquiries and product performance concerns.
- Assist with technical reports and recommendations based on laboratory findings.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all H&S, compliance and training standards are met.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across technical and laboratory activities.
Requirements
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related discipline.
- Proven industrial experience in laboratory testing, technical service, quality control or R&D.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and with customers.
- Experience within coatings, adhesives, paper, film or a related manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of statistics, data analysis or design of experiments would be advantageous.
