Role Overview

The Technical Services Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the organisation's ICT infrastructure, cloud services, business applications, and end-user technologies. The role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing IT services while supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support across infrastructure, applications, networks, and end-user devices
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Windows Server, and Hyper-V environments
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switching, VPNs, firewalls, and Wi‑Fi services
  • Monitor system performance, security, backups, patching, and availability to ensure service continuity
  • Act as technical lead for business‑critical systems, managing configurations, upgrades, integrations, and user support
  • Deliver ICT projects, including requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and post‑deployment support
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability management, access controls, and compliance activities
  • Work with external vendors and managed service providers to resolve incidents and deliver technology improvements
  • Develop technical documentation, system procedures, and knowledge resources
  • Deliver training and support user adoption of digital systems and platforms

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform, Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Hyper‑V, and endpoint management
  • Demonstrable experience driving the adoption of AI technologies while managing associated security, privacy, compliance, and operational risk
  • Experience supporting networks, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud‑based service
  • Familiarity with ITIL‑based service management and ITSM platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills

Required

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI
  • Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and best practices
  • Experience supporting VOIP/Unified Communications platforms
  • Experience with API integrations and data workflows
  • Exposure to ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Pl
  • Experience managing third‑party vendors and managed service providers
