Technical Services Manager - Electrical Bias Freelance | London | £450-£500 per day We are currently working with a leading UK main contractor on an exciting opportunity for a Freelance Technical Services Manager to join their project team in London. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the action, managing subcontractors, resolving technical issues and keeping MEP works moving. The ideal candidate will be electrically biased, with strong experience managing MEP subcontractors and a good understanding of electrical isolations, coordination and safe systems of work. The Role This is very much a boots-on-the-ground position. You'll be the day-to-day link between the site team, MEP subcontractors, consultants and wider project team, making sure issues are identified, chased and resolved. We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and willing to get stuck in - not someone who is looking to manage everything from behind a desk. Your responsibilities will include: Managing and coordinating MEP subcontractors, particularly electrical packages Acting as the day-to-day middleman between the site team, subcontractors, consultants and project management Being regularly out on site, monitoring progress, quality and installation Chasing subcontractors and driving actions through to completion Understanding and coordinating electrical isolations and ensuring works are properly planned and managed Identifying technical and coordination issues and driving practical solutions Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information Monitoring subcontractor progress against the programme and challenging delays Coordinating testing, commissioning and handover Attending technical and coordination meetings Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and the wider construction team Supporting the safe, timely and high-quality delivery of MEP services About You We're looking for a hands-on Technical Services Manager / MEP Manager who can hit the ground running. Ideally, you will have: Previous experience as a Technical Services Manager, MEP Manager, Building Services Manager or similar A strong electrical bias Proven experience managing MEP subcontractors A good understanding of electrical systems and isolations Strong site-based construction experience The confidence to challenge subcontractors and hold them accountable Excellent communication and coordination skills A proactive approach - someone who chases things rather than waits for them The ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an existing project team A genuine "get stuck in" attitude Package Role: Freelance Technical Services Manager Location: London Rate: £450-£500 per day Duration: 4 month project Start: Immediate / short notice preferred If you're an experienced electrically biased Technical Services Manager who enjoys being boots on the ground, managing subcontractors and getting things done, we'd be keen to hear from you.
