We're looking for a Utilities Technician to join our team at the Ambrosia Creamery site in Lifton, Devon. Reporting to the Site Services Manager, you'll help operate, monitor and maintain the utilities plant that supports our continuous manufacturing operations. This includes steam, refrigeration, compressed air, water and effluent services.

What you will be doing:

Operating and monitoring boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment and effluent systems
Completing routine plant checks, sampling, meter readings and operating records
Carrying out planned maintenance, first-line repairs and fault-finding within your level of competence
Responding to plant alarms, breakdowns and interruptions to utilities services
Identifying defects, abnormal operating conditions and emerging risks
Maintaining accurate maintenance, compliance and shift-handover records
Supporting statutory inspections, specialist contractors and improvement projects
Helping improve plant reliability, energy efficiency and operating costs

What we need from you:

You'll have relevant practical experience within engineering, maintenance, utilities or process operations, along with hands-on experience of operating, maintaining or fault-finding on industrial plant or process equipment.

You'll also bring:
Practical mechanical knowledge and a basic understanding of electrical systems
Strong safety and environmental awareness
The ability to identify problems, take appropriate action and communicate clearly
Confidence working independently as part of a 24/7 shift team
The ability to use maintenance systems and keep accurate records

Experience with boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment or effluent systems would be particularly valuable. Experience within food manufacturing or another regulated process environment would also be beneficial.

Why join us?
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of essential site utilities, develop your technical knowledge and contribute to improvements in safety, reliability, efficiency and cost.

If you're practical, safety-focused and ready to play an important part in keeping a busy manufacturing site running, we'd love to hear from you!
