Duration: Temporary

 

Salary: £16.90 per hour

 

Hours: 4 hours per week

 

Working Pattern: Sundays only

Apple Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Theatre Technician to support the delivery of technical services at a busy theatre venue in Newtownabbey

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced theatre technician looking for regular part-time work. Working every Sunday, you will be responsible for operating lighting and sound systems while ensuring productions and events are delivered safely and professionally.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate theatre lighting, sound and audio-visual equipment for performances and events.

     

    Support the technical requirements of visiting companies and external clients.

     

    Assist with the setup, operation and dismantling of productions and events.

     

    Ensure all technical activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.

     

    Supervise casual technicians where required and support high production standards.

     

    Carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance of technical equipment.

     

    Assist with risk assessments and ensure safe working practices are followed.

     

    Liaise with production teams, performers and venue staff to ensure events run smoothly.

     

    Maintain technical equipment, records and documentation.

     

    Assist with opening and closing the venue when required.

     

 

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in a Technical Theatre related course or at least 5 years' proven technical experience in a theatre or production company.

     

    Minimum 3 years' technical experience within a theatre or production company.

     

    Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation relating to technical theatre.

     

    Specialist expertise in at least one of the following:

     

    • Stage Management

       

      Live Audio

       

      Event Lighting

       

      Visual Projection/Display

       

    Good knowledge in at least two of the following:

     

    • Sound

       

      Lighting

       

      Audio Visual Projection

       

      Counterweight Flying Systems

       

      Computer Networking

       

      Radio Microphone Systems

       

    Excellent communication and organisational skills.

     

    Ability to prioritise workloads and work both independently and as part of a team.

     

    Full current driving licence or access to suitable transport to fulfil the duties of the post.

     

    Ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role.
