Trading Standards Officer

Vivid Resourcing are working with a local authority in the West Midlands with the recruitment of an experienced Trading Standards Officer for an initial 6-month contract. We are seeking qualified Trading Standards professionals with current competency and practical experience in one or more of the following specialist areas: * Product Safety * Legal Metrology (Weights & Measures) * Feed Hygiene This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and well-established Trading Standards team, supporting regulatory activities. The Role You will undertake a varied caseload, carrying out inspections, investigations and advisory work to ensure businesses comply with relevant legislation and standards. Key responsibilities include: * Conducting inspections of businesses and premises * Investigating complaints and potential breaches of Trading Standards legislation. * Providing advice and guidance to local businesses. * Preparing reports, records and enforcement documentation where required. * Supporting regulatory and compliance activities within your area of expertise. About You To be considered, you must: * Hold a recognised Trading Standards qualification. * Demonstrate current competency in at least one of the following areas: Product Safety, Legal Metrology, or Feed Hygiene. * Have experience undertaking inspections, investigations and business engagement activities. * Possess strong communication and report-writing skills. * Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel What's on Offer * Initial 6-month contract. * Competitive hourly rate. * Flexible working arrangements considered. * Opportunity to work within a supportive local authority Trading Standards team
