Trainee Robot & Automation Engineer Location: Bedford Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 Permanent | Full-time Are you a recent engineering graduate or apprentice looking to build a career in robotics and automation? This is a great opportunity to join an established engineering business working on automated manufacturing systems across the automotive and wider industrial sectors. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience across robot programming, automation, system integration and commissioning. The Role Assisting with programming industrial robots including ABB, KUKA and FANUC Supporting the integration of robotic systems and manufacturing equipment Assisting with offline robot simulation and programming Supporting system commissioning and customer projects Testing and adjusting systems to meet production and quality requirements Maintaining technical and safety documentation Working with engineers to identify improvements and optimise automated processes Developing your skills through structured training and mentoring Requirements Essential: Degree, diploma or apprenticeship in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Basic understanding of robotics and programming principles Genuine interest in robotics and automated manufacturing Strong problem-solving and analytical ability Good communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn and develop technicallyDesirable: Programming experience Exposure to industrial robots or automation equipment Understanding of automated manufacturing environments Knowledge of robotics and machinery safetyIND4
