Job summary

Some roles support a service. This role keeps it moving.

A brand new Oral Health service is launching in Tower Hamlets, helping children and young people access the care, advice and resources they need to develop healthier smiles and better lifelong oral health. Behind every successful visit, school session and community intervention is someone making sure the right equipment and supplies are in the right place at the right time.

As our Transport and Logistics Assistant, you'll be at the centre of making that happen. You'll coordinate stock, manage supplies, deliver dental packs across Tower Hamlets and work closely with colleagues, schools and partners to keep the service running smoothly. Your organisation, reliability and attention to detail will directly support frontline teams to deliver outstanding care to the children and families who rely on us.

This is more than driving and deliveries. You'll help improve processes, manage stock efficiently, build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues and ensure every delivery contributes to a service that local communities can depend on.

As you'll be working closely with local schools, partners and communities across the borough, this opportunity is ideal for someone who knows Tower Hamlets and takes pride in supporting the place they call home.

Main duties of the job

You're organised, dependable and take pride in a job done well. You enjoy keeping things running smoothly, solving problems before they become issues and understand that the small details can make a big difference. Whether you're planning deliveries, managing stock or supporting colleagues, you know that your work helps others succeed.

Your values are your strongest asset. You act with integrity, value others, find solutions when challenges arise and take pride in being someone your team can always rely on.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

Experience working in a fast paced environment.

Experience using Microsoft systems to order goods, manage stock or maintain records.

A good understanding of manual handling, health and safety and confidentiality.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to keep accurate records.

The ability to work independently, as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.

A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel independently across Tower Hamlets.

The physical ability to undertake manual handling duties.

Experience working within a stores, logistics or distribution environment, knowledge of stock receipt, storage and distribution procedures, or an International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) would be an advantage.

If you take pride in being the person others can rely on, we'd like you on our team.
