Tree Inspector
Are you an experienced Tree Inspector or arboricultural professional looking for a new opportunity?
We are currently seeking a knowledgeable Tree Inspector to support the management, maintenance and safety of a large and varied tree portfolio across Walsall.
This role will involve carrying out inspections across a range of locations, identifying potential hazards, assessing tree condition and providing clear recommendations for any remedial works required. You will also help ensure tree records remain accurate and support the ongoing delivery of wider tree management and urban forestry objectives.
Key Responsibilities
·Undertake scheduled and reactive inspections of individual trees, tree groups and woodland areas.
·Identify defects, assess tree health and evaluate potential risks to the public and surrounding property.
·Recommend appropriate tree works and determine priorities based on condition and level of risk.
·Update and maintain accurate tree inspection records and asset information.
·Ensure recommendations comply with relevant arboricultural standards, legislation and local policies.
·Provide specialist arboricultural advice where required.
·Support the delivery and ongoing management of tree risk and inspection programmes.
·Contribute to the effective management and long-term sustainability of the local tree stock.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
·Previous experience undertaking professional tree inspections or arboricultural surveys.
·Level 3 Tree Inspection qualification in Arboriculture, or a recognised equivalent.
·NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification within arboriculture, horticulture, environmental management, green space management or a related discipline.
·Good knowledge of tree health, defects, risk assessment and appropriate remedial works.
·Understanding of relevant arboricultural legislation, guidance and industry standards.
·Full UK driving licence, including Driver CPC.
·IOSH accreditation, or willingness and ability to obtain this.
