Vascular Trust Grade Registrar
Job summary
To provide high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and emergency vascular care, supporting resident medical staff and contributing to service delivery, education, and improvement in alignment with GMC and Trust standards.Main duties of the job
Develop excellent clinical care that is patient centric and evidence-based.
Contribute to team working that enables a learning working environment as well as excellent clinical outcome.
Support triaging of outpatient referrals.
Assist with managing test results and communicating with patients.
Handle clinical queries from primary care and referring teams.
Provide safe, evidence-based care to vascular surgery patients.
Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, MDTs, and the on-call rota.
Ensure high standards of documentation and safe clinical handover.
Identify clinical situations that require senior input and escalate appropriately.
Contribute to seamless perioperative care in collaboration with the wider MDT.
Provide supervision, teaching, and mentorship to FY1-CT2 doctors and medical students.
Contribute to local training, simulation sessions, and departmental educational programmes.
Contribute to and participate in audit and quality control.
Contribute to and participate in research.
To identify national strategies and policies that impact on vascular service provision and initiate and implement practice and service development improvement accordingly.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- oCurrent GMC registration with a licence to practice
- oMedical Qualification
- oMRCS examination or appropriate equivalent
- oEvidence of completion of Foundation or equivalent training
Desirable
- oTeaching qualification e.g PG cert in Medical Education
- oLeadership Training
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Essential
- Broad and applied understanding of relevant specialty knowledge
Experience
Essential
- 2 years of experience in a surgical post at the equivalent of Core surgery or Specialty Training (ST3) or middle grade experience and competencies
- A log book demonstrating appropriate level of operative experience
- Experience of Audit Completion

- Experience of involvement with teaching/training
- Research experience including presentation and publications
