Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role with a Level 3 qualification, or Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with 3 years experience, for a busy main dealer service department in Bury St. Edmunds. Must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence. Skills and experience Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician, MOT Tester or Preparation Technician within a dealership, service centre or similar workshop environment. NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent automotive qualification, is preferred. Job Responsibilities for the Vehicle Technician role: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and technical faults across a range of vehicles. Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections and general repair work to manufacturer standards. Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify faults accurately and complete repairs efficiently. Complete video vehicle health checks and provide clear notes on work completed or further recommendations. Record all work accurately on job cards and internal systems. Work closely with service advisors, workshop controllers and other technicians to deliver a smooth customer experience. Keep the workshop area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
