A leading global Financial Services firm is seeking an experienced Valuation Risk Manager to join its centralised Valuation Control function within the Chief Risk Office.

This is a high-profile second-line role supporting a growing Commodities and Energy trading business. The successful candidate will provide independent challenge and oversight of the valuation of trading positions.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee valuation-control activities for Commodities and Energy trading portfolios, including daily and monthly Independent Price Verification (IPV).

  • Review and challenge trader marks, valuation inputs, pricing methodologies and the appropriateness of independent market data.

  • Review fair value reserves, prudent valuation adjustments and IFRS fair-value hierarchy classifications.

  • Assess and recommend approval of new trades, new product activity and Day 1 P&L recognition decisions.
