Main duties of the job

As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your primary mission will be to support the Wellbeing Coordinator to deliver a diverse range of activities that enhance the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of residents. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and professional living environment, reporting changes in residents' conditions, preparing activity supplies, and fostering community relationships. The role demands effective communication, a positive attitude towards older individuals, and experience in a residential nursing Dementia setting. ABOUT THE ROLE

As Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, your focus will be tosupportthe Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the resident's physical, cognitive, and social well-being.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Maintaininga safe living and working environment,contributing to the positive and professional image of thehome.
  • Reporting any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and the care staff.
  • Supporting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
  • Supporting establishing links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

  • Have previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting.

Essential

  • Our ideal candidate must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written, a positive attitude toward older people, and a commitment to providing quality activities. Experience working with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of the importance of interaction in general well-being.
