Main duties of the job

As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Seagrave House Care Home in Corby, your primary responsibility will be to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering various activities that enhance the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of residents. You will be part of a close-knit team committed to providing exceptional care and helping residents enjoy a fulfilling experience. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and professional environment, reporting changes in residents' conditions, assisting in the preparation of supplies for activities, and fostering community links to promote intergenerational activities. Successful candidates will embody Avery Healthcare's values of being caring, supportive, honest, and accountable. You should possess effective communication skills, a positive attitude towards older people, and have previous experience working with older individuals in a dementia care setting. This role requires a DBS Disclosure check, paid for by Avery Healthcare, and proof of eligibility to work in the UK. ABOUT THE ROLE

As Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, your focus will be tosupportthe Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the resident's physical, cognitive, and social well-being.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Maintaininga safe living and working environment,contributing to the positive and professional image of thehome.
  • Reporting any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and the care staff.
  • Supporting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
  • Supporting establishing links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

  • Have effective communication skills, verbal andwritten.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well-being of people.
  • Have a positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
  • Have previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting.

Essential

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Understanding the role of interaction in general well-being. Positive attitude towards older people and commitment to providing quality activities. Experience with older people in a dementia care setting.
