Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Autism Support) 📍 Location: Clapham Common SW4, Lambeth 💰 Pay: £108.35 per day 📅 Start Date: September 2026 💷 Weekly Pay: Every Friday Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant | Clapham Common, Lambeth A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Clapham Common, Lambeth is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Autism on a 1:1 basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) and a sound understanding of Year 1 Phonics. The Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to deliver tailored support. Help the pupil engage positively with learning and classroom activities. Support the child's communication, social development and emotional wellbeing. Assist with the delivery of Year 1 Phonics interventions and literacy activities. Foster a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant within a primary school. Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Knowledge and understanding of SEN strategies and interventions. Experience supporting Year 1 Phonics and early literacy development. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
