Privacy policy

This policy explains how Vocation Media Limited (“Jobroute”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use jobroute.io, our job search pages, our click-tracking service, or interact with us as an advertising or publishing partner. We are the data controller for the processing described here, and we process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Data we collect

Job seekers using our pages or clicking tracked job links. When you view a job or click through to an employer or partner site we process technical data about the request: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device characteristics, the page you came from, and timing information. We use this to route you to the right job, to detect and filter automated (bot) traffic, and to measure that our service works. We do not require an account and we do not ask job seekers for a CV or profile.

Partners. For advertiser and publisher accounts we hold business contact details (name, email address, organisation) and records of campaigns, transactions and communications.

How we use it

We use request data to deliver the click to its destination, to distinguish genuine visitors from automated traffic (fraud prevention is a core function of our platform), to bill our partners accurately, and to produce aggregate statistics. Our lawful bases are legitimate interests (operating and protecting a click-measurement marketplace) and, for partner accounts, performance of a contract.

Security and traffic screening

Our services sit behind Cloudflare, which processes request data on our behalf as a security and delivery provider, including assigning automated-traffic (“bot”) assessments to requests. Some visits may be asked to complete a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge before continuing; Turnstile does not track you across sites.

Sharing

Click data is shared with the advertiser or partner whose job you clicked, in aggregate or pseudonymised form, for billing and reporting. We use service providers for hosting (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany), security and content delivery (Cloudflare), and business administration. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

Click records are retained for as long as needed for billing, audit and fraud analysis, then deleted or irreversibly aggregated. Partner account records are kept for the duration of the relationship and as required for tax and accounting law.

Your rights

You have the rights provided by UK data protection law, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. To exercise them, use the contact form on our homepage. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
