About the Role
This Ambulatory Equine Vet position is based with Three Counties Equine Hospital and is focused mainly on ambulatory work. You will be part of a friendly team of 22 vets, with the chance to continue your own cases through the hospital when needed.
The role combines routine first opinion ambulatory work with hospital support for lameness and poor performance investigations, advanced procedures and medical work ups. Senior colleagues, diplomats in surgery and internal medicine, and the nursing team are all available to support your development.
The practice sits on the Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire borders, and the role comes with access to state-of-the-art equipment including portable digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, dynamic endoscopy, gastroscopy, scintigraphy and MRI.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out predominantly ambulatory equine work as part of a first opinion practice and referral hospital.
- Handle routine first opinion cases with hospital back-up for investigations and more advanced work ups.
- Support lameness and poor performance investigations.
- Take part in advanced procedures and medical case management.
- Follow selected cases through from the road into the hospital.
- Work collaboratively with senior colleagues, diplomats and the nursing team.
