We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Assistive Technology Coordinator to lead an exciting three-year project focused on enhancing the availability and effective use of assistive technology across our College Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the educational experience and outcomes of learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will take the lead in developing and implementing a whole-college approach to assistive technology. You will research emerging technologies, recommend solutions that positively impact learners, and work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to embed technology into everyday teaching and learning.

A key aspect of the role will be developing and delivering training for both staff and learners, ensuring confidence and competence in the use of assistive technologies. You will also monitor project progress, manage key milestones, and keep stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of a college-wide assistive technology project.
  • Research and evaluate current and emerging assistive technologies.
  • Recommend innovative solutions that improve learner experience and outcomes.
  • Work closely with curriculum and learning support teams to embed assistive technology into practice.
  • Develop accessible training resources and deliver engaging training sessions to staff and learners.
  • Monitor project progress, maintain records, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Champion inclusive education and support the College's commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding, and continuous improvement

Who You Are:

  • Knowledge of the needs of learners with SEND within an educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of assistive technology and its application in education.
  • A relevant qualification.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programmes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and external partners.
  • A commitment to inclusion, equality, diversity, and safeguarding
