Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Clerical Officer to work within our friendly Community AHP Admin team that's brought together the admin teams for Podiatry, Leg Ulcer, Community Stroke Rehab, Community Neuro, OBI Disability Support, and Community Rehab and Falls Teams under one team lead, centralizing shared functions to improve efficiency based at Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre.

You will be a part ofsmallteam ofadministrators,youwill be an adaptable and confident team member who alsopossessesexcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be resilient and enjoy working closely with a team in a demanding environment.

Effective communication skills are vital as you willon a daily basisdealing with telephone calls, booking,reschedulingandcancelling appointments,processing referrals,dealing withqueriesand passing on information to the PodiatryServices Admin & Clinical Team Leadsand the Clinical Teams via, email, telephone and in person.

Main duties of the job

To provide an efficient,comprehensiveand confidential administrative service to the Community Podiatry Service and to provide an efficient telephone / reception service to patients and their relatives / carers,initiatingany necessary action.

To play a key role in contributing to theday to dayprovision of an efficient,effectiveand robust service ensuring that it is patientcentredwith a customer focused and personalized approach.

This role requires communication links across the whole healthcare sector and may involve conflict resolution.

The post holder will take an active part in the change management processes in the development of systems and services asappropriate.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Maths & English to GCSE Level grade C minimum or equivalent qualification.

Desirable

  • Level 2 or above qualification in relevant field: NVQ Level 2 or above (e.g. Business Administration, Customer Service, etc), GCSEs or A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
  • Recognised IT qualification
Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of confidentiality and Data protection.
Experience

Essential

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work under pressure in a busy office environment
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office packages
  • Customer service experience.
  • Able to cover for colleagues during periods of leave

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in a telephone Booking office environment
  • Experience with working with databases and data inputting
